Extreme Sportsman visits to inspire for our "Challenges"
Extreme Sportsman, Dan Martin, who is presently training to carry out a solo round-the-world triathlon, visited our school on Monday 9th January. He attended the assembly which launched our school-wide challenge. He also spoke with all the year 5 and 6 children. In this olympic year, every child and adult is choosing a challenge to complete. As each individual achieves success, we will celebrate with their name joining the "Line-up" in the hall. There will be more information available at the parent / teacher consultations later this month and on the website.
Get Set London 2012

Last Term, Stukeley Meadows applied to be accepted onto the Get Set Network for London 2012. The application was accepted and we are now members of the Network as shown by the plaque that we were awarded in the front entrance.
The Get Set network is helping to bring the Olympic and Paralympic games to life. Being part of the network means Stukeley Meadows are now able to have access to a huge range of resources. These particularly focus on the values of the Olympic and Paralympic games which we will be following in school during the build up to the Olympics.
Through these resources and many more, we are hoping to get the children really engaged and enthused about the forthcoming London 2012 and further their curriculum learning through London 2012 activities.
OfSTED Report November 2011 says: “significant improvement” has been made.
We are pleased to tell you that the judgement from this inspection is that “the school no longer requires significant improvement”. “The good features in the previous report have been sustained . . . over the last year, school leaders and staff have worked hard to remedy many of the weaknesses identified at the last inspection.” “Many pupils are now making good progress . . .” “In the majority of lessons, teaching is good . . .”
Our Early Years team again achieved outstanding grades for quality of provision and outcomes.
The three main improvement targets in the report match our own evaluation at this point in the school’s development cycle. The inspectors noted that “Self-evaluation is accurate and leaders have correctly identified those areas requiring improvement. They have implemented a number of systems and structures to overcome identified weaknesses but many of these are in the early stages of implementation.” “The Leadership team has a clear sense of purpose and ambition and is working well to increase the rate of improvement”.

Year 5 Maths Challenge
On Thursday 7th July our maths team of Daniel, Izzy, Max and Alistair took part in the final of the Year 5 Cambridgeshire Maths Challenge at Duxford Imperial War Museum - and WON!!
Out of 115 schools who took part, 29 reached the final and so to come first was a fantastic achievement.
They showed brilliant team working skills and were a credit to themselves and the school.
Well done on this great achievement!
